  1. ProgMan says:

Spot on. All religions are without exception invented by men. Therefore those religions reflect men’s susceptibilities, prejudices and desires. Mo is a good example with his god complying with his needs and requirements. Ahem.

  2. Mila+Ottevanger says:

Just saying, I’m reading this in the church of Amalfi.

  3. Robert+Andrews says:

That’s why Roman Catholic priests czn’t marry. So any assets go back to the church-not any surviving family. No wonder they are so rich.

“Religion is god stuff for keeping the common people quiet”–Napoleon

  4. Jerry+www says:

Here, let me break it down for you….
When you speak to god you’re delusional.
When god speaks to you you’re schizophrenic.
    Or something like that….

  5. God told me I should be an atheist. Thanks again, Author. You had me chuckling over my morning coffee. Great way to start the day.

I hope you all like this. You always seem like a tolerant bunch, except for tolerating bigotry and stupidity. Rather like the Dutch in that regard.

How convenient of an invisible deity
To tell the chosen what should be
Of course it’s all love and peace
The nature of the muslim beast
Is to kill those involved with apostasy.

  7. Hahahaha yes those timely revelations have always made me laugh.

  8. two cents' worth says:

As Susan B. Anthony said, more than a century ago, “I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.” Mo might be more convincing if he said the devil made him do those things, but then he’d appear fallible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kaiLcwHXB4

DH, thanks for the link to the first QUILTBAGS video, but I hope this is just the beginning of a story line (rather than a stand-alone episode), because I’m dying to know what happens next 🙂 .

  9. HaggisForBrains says:

Yes. I hope QUILTBAGS catches on, as it’s easier to pronounce than any of the other acronyms.

  10. white+squirrel says:

As timeless as the book of mormon

  11. white+squirrel says:

    ‘God told Mo to n’
the same reason/excuse that Peter Sutcliffe gave

  12. Abhijeet says:

Two Cents, the only thing the devil made Mo do was to try to make peace with the idolaters – the Satanic Verses.

  13. white+squirrel says:

the only thing the devil made Mo do was to try to make peace with the idolaters – the Satanic Verses.
or at least that was the only verses that Mo recognised as being from satan- and then only after the event [ and in which case why are they still in the quran?]
it overlooks all the verses put in Mo’s mind by Satan which Mo did not recognise
presumably all the sura about killing infidels and gays and making women second class would be from satan too
[assuming that such an entity actually exists]

  14. micky says:

    Where’s everybody gone?

    Where’s everybody gone?

well for some time now, I’ve gone where I don’t have to read any more of white squirrel’s endless multiple, unstructured, ungrammatical, unfunny posts. Sorry, but there it is.

  16. Emma says:

Funny that, deities coming up with just the right revelation.
