  1. Guairdean says:

    Welcome back!!

  2. eoinkenobi says:

    There in all its glory!

  3. Author says:

Glad to hear it’s working for some! It’s still very flaky from where I am though. And extremely slow.

  4. eoinkenobi says:

Hey author, are there still jesusandmo T-shirts available anywhere?

  5. Author says:

Not at the moment, eoinkenobi. I haven’t found a replacement for CafePress yet. I can provide hi-res images if you want to get your own printed if you like.

  6. Rod says:

It’s working over here, but got a weird “checking your browser” notice before loading. At any rate, this is an improvement!

  7. Rrr says:

Very strange! Now I too lost the cartoon but can read comments (5). A refresh results in an error (host timeout) before reverting to the same situation.

Maybe a compsecboffin like Bruce Schneier can offer help?

  8. eoinkenobi says:

I got that ‘checking your browser’ message too, and a whirly thing for a couple of seconds.

  9. Nom de guerre says:

It worked. Error in last panel? The “IT” after written?

  10. Author says:

Yes, the “checking your browser” thing is supposed to happen. It slows down attackers.

  11. Author says:

Fixed – thanks Nom de guerre.

  12. Rrr says:

Rod: Yeah, I got that speedbump too.

Forgot to mention I did get the cartoon by e-mail.

Situation reminiscent of an old non-pc joke:
Runner visits Medicine Man: Please help, Big Chief no fart!
MM makes concoction. Runner takes off.
Runner returns: Big Chief, small fart!
MM makes heavier concoction, Runner takes off.
Runner returns: Big fart, no Chief!

  13. Shaughn says:

The checking your browser thing is followed here by a text only page (MS Edge user here). I get at the wanted page only by then clicking a link to the cartoon.

If it doesn’t slow down attackers, it certainly slow down me!

  14. jb says:

Everything is back to normal for me.

I don’t mind the “checking your browser” — I get the same thing on certain political sites I read that are also subject to attack. But that means this was an attack then? If so it’s good you upgraded your security. There are a lot of people out there doing their best to make sure that nobody is wrong on the internet.

  15. Shaughn says:

    Here too back to normal.

  16. Rrr says:

    A-ok no issues here.

  17. Author says:

    Is it not incredibly slow?

  18. Walter Walcarpit says:

Working OK for me as far as I can tell. Nothing remarkable about the speed. Safari on a Mac.

  19. Ben says:

Doesn’t load for me, in either Safari or Chrome, on macOS 10.15.7. Tried refreshing multiple times. I can see all the comments, but no comic.

  20. M27Holts says:

Chrome on android. Working fine.. no speed bump.

  21. M27Holts says:

I’m always right on the internet..that can’t be me JB…

  22. suffolk blue says:

Ah, good. Normal(ish) service is resumed.

  23. Son of Glenner says:

For what it’s worth, all seems to be OK for me.

I have tried a few different ways of arriving at the current strip + comments and they all seem to work except I cannot move from previous strip to this one, as the “last” option does not appear.

  24. Son of Glenner says:

    Love this week’s strip, BTW!

  25. Laripu says:

Does Jesus play harmonica… aka mouth organ? I imagine that Moses writes the songs. My guess is that the Indian goddess Durga plays drums, because of all those arms.

Who else is in the band?

  26. Son of Glenner says:

Laripu: The elephant-headed god Ganesh can provide trumpeting and, with four arms, can play a variety of percussion instruments such as tambourine, maracas and castanets. (Although I seem to recall that, when they met, J&M and Ganesh did not get on very well with each other.)

  27. M27Holts says:

What about tbe flying spaghetti monster? What a front man she would make….

  28. Dr John the Wipper says:

… and for the greater light and sound effects none can beat Donar/Thor.

  29. Son of Glenner says:

Dr John the Wipper: And Loki for the pyrotechnics!

  30. M27Holts says:

Thor? Jesus and mo are avatars for Simon & Garfunkel. Tnor would clearly be in a very heavy metal band…obvs…

  31. jb says:

Everything is orange now. The entire page background, from left to right. This makes it kind of hard now to read the comments, because they are black text against deep orange. Previously the center of the page was white, at least for me. Has it changed for other people as well, or did everyone else always see it this way?

  32. M27Holts says:

No ok for me. Stop using your zx81…..

  33. Troubleshooter says:

Well, using Cliqz (a Firefox superset), as the saying goes, etwas ist hier los! I’m seeing neither the cartoon nor the avatars of any of the commenters here. All those are a blank white. It DID finally come up using straight-up Firefox, but only after what should have been some completely unnecessary toggling off the latest page to previous cartoons, which also initially did not display.

Hope this can get fixed SOON!

  34. Dr John the Wipper says:

    M27:

ZX81. A marvel. 1 K (bit!) RAM. An 8 K bit (the max) mem extension cost as much as the ZX itself. My favorite joke at the time: they are only good if it has snowed severely and you have 2 of them with straps. They make wonderful snowshoes.

  35. Jim Baerg says:

I don’t see any comments later than June 2 so I thought I should test whether comments work

  36. Son of Glenner says:

Still playing up I’m afraid. No matter how I try to reach this week’s page, I can see the strip OK, but the comments are cut off after 15 comments.

Oh well, at least I can see the strip – it’s always worth seeing, which is not always the case with the comments!

  37. jb says:

It’s been going back and forth for me. Sometimes I only see the first 15 comments; other times (like now) everything seems normal. Seems like I’m hitting an older cached version of the page somewhere. However at least I always see the comic, and the orange page hasn’t come back.

  38. Forteatwo says:

No luck here with any browser. Comments come up, but no strip and no email announcing this week’s strip. Boo Hoo!

  39. CLIVE HOWARD NAYLOR says:

What’s happened to the guy who used to do atrocious anti-atheist limerics?
