The first thing I noticed is that the author of this article is “Daniel Silliman”, and I guess he’s really a silly man.
It’s about a televangelist who claims she can’t have children because space aliens have been stealing her egg cells for decades, in order to create a hybrid human-alien race. The aliens are nephilim. She is (of course) selling a book about it. (Beliefs like this are becoming more and more mainstream. US vice president Vance believes space aliens are actually demons, as in biblical demons.)
Apparently in the early 2000s, she was in prison for the manufacture of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute. In this modern version of the United states, this woman is a model citizen.
Yesterday I watched the film The Odyssey. There was a lot of discussion about offending the gods, pleasing the gods, Zeus’s law, etc. The whole movie seem to be about the downfall of civilization, as a consequence of breaking Zeus’s law. That is apparently is about welcoming strangers as though they were your own family. A metaphor for modern times.
