Well, this is just completely ironic for me. I shaved my beard (that I’ve had for the past year) this morning and here I see Mo has shaved his beard, too.

I wonder if he grew the beard to take people’s eyes off his extremely long unibrow.

  2. tie says:

ahahah, hilarious the uni-brow makes it even better.

  3. Andy says:

I am literally crying with laughter.

  4. Bruce says:

    Quick, put on the niqab!

  5. Poor Richard says:

I’ve never understood why Islam nixed shaving; believers would have loved it: Before the invention of the safety razor, shaving was painful, bloody, and occasionally fatal–like banging on ones head with a knife or something. Christianity, on the other hand, took up the practice of self-flagellation–painful, bloody, and occasionally fatal. It’s obvious which choice is the more civilized.

As P. R. always says, “It feels so good when I stop.”

  6. Roland says:

Last night I tried a different style for my facial hair. I didn’t like it, so I had to shave it completely.

And I understand how poor Mo must be feeling. :(

  7. Jerry w says:

I can’t decide if the best looking beard I’ve ever seen was

    Penelope Cruz or Nicole Kidman.

Sorry, too much of a set up to ignore.

  8. Jedrek says:

I’m in Yemen now (very Islamic, very conservative – J&M keep me sane), and already twice someone thought I was a woman (I’m not) because I have no beard or moustache, but fairly long hair. The interesting thing is that as far as I know there’s nothing in the Hadith (not to mention the Quran) about growing a beard other than the fact that Mohammed had one – but he also did have long hair, which fact (if you call the Hadiths facts) most Muslims seem to ignore. Anybody knows why?

  9. prozacville says:

    Excellent.

One wonders how many messianic-wannabes would feel (and look) less powerful if their cherubic cheeks were aired more often (facial and backside).

  10. JoJo says:

    Prozacville: Gaius Baltar..? ;-P

    I’ll get my coat..

  11. Greg says:

    Brilliant. An all-too seldom-covered topic.

  12. Hobbes says:

Yahweh has a beard too. Look at all his pictures. Has long hair and looks angry a lot too. Wouldn’t anger indicate something wasn’t going his way? Does he have an inferior complex? Very possibly if you look the Flood and at what lengths he went to in Egypt to convince himself he had the power to kill a lot of people.

  13. Hobbes says:

Is that thing on the door supposed to be a hook or a peep hole?

  14. theholyllama says:

@ Hobbes – I think it’s a little picture of a toilet. You know, so no-one gets lost.

  15. The question is, can Mohammad be drawn without a beard and the picture still said to be a rendering of Mohammad. If not, you may have finally drawn a cartoon that wouldn’t earn you a death sentence.

  16. louis says:

i actually think mo looks good. is it only me?

    love the tiny mouth.

  17. mat says:

    he looks younger

  18. JohnnieCanuck says:

Yeah, he doesn’t look a day older than 1,438 years. Approximately.

  19. Jerry w says:

    Before, he was Mo.

    Now, he looks like Curly.

  20. Uncle Roger says:

That’s why I have a beard — because people think I’m a girl without it. No kidding. (Well, that and the fact that I’m way too lazy to shave.)

I’m sorry, but if facial hair is a requirement for salvation, you’re just being stupid. “Okay, you can only get into heaven if you a) bake cookies every tuesday, b) walk around your bed 5 times before getting into it, c) stick pencils up your nose at weddings, and d) never, ever shave. Girls too — we need more virgins up here.”

  21. Elric says:

All bow down before, Uncle Roger, the new prophet of our new religious sect: Fundamentalist Church of Jesus & Mo-vidians of Latter Night Underage Rapists.

Do we have to wait until you die before we start fabricating your miraculous deeds???

  22. yelinna says:

    I’m laughting as crazy!! :D :D :D
Man, I was really sad this day, you made me smile :)

  23. Acolyte of Sagan says:

It’s said that people don’t trust men with beards because they’re too much like masks; they think the wearer is trying to hide something sinister. Well, they’re not. Usually they’re just trying to cover up a less-than beautiful fizzog.
