That reminded me of an argument I had with my cousin last year when he was trying to convince me how peaceful, rightful, and true Islam is.
After a couple of hours, he became so furious at me that he threw the table where we had our poor cups of tea upside down and left swearing at me and promising me hellfire…
Yeh, JayBee, I had that same argument with my cousin over the peacefulness, rightfulness and truth of Christianity. She stormed out of my house, as you said, “swearing at me and promising me hellfire”.
Maybe we should introduce them to one another and run off to the nearest pub.
After my own self-conversion from Christianity to Reason, I saw the utter ridiculousness of believing in a god that threatens eternal torture to those who don’t fear him and love him. Such a god sounds more like the ultimate cosmic-terrorist, deeply insecure and psychotic. What’s not to love?
I’m an atheist, and i know nothing about Islam - but supposed “real” Christianity following the meaning behind the teachings of Jesus (love thy neighbour and do unto others etc) is very very reasonable. It’s a shame most people calling themselves Christians are racist, creationist, crazy, illogical or stupid (or a combination of the above), especially about their ill-informed beliefs.
PS I was handed a leaflet in the city centre the other day by a smiling Christian that was completely white on the outside with “lost?” written in black on the cover.
When i opened it up it said “Find God Here” and there was a big arrow pointing on a map with a 3d-arrow to the local Church.

And the barmaid has the inner peace that goes with not having to twist logic and reason to make them match with emotions and wishful thinking.
All that’s left is to fight the temptation to knock a couple of heads together.

[…] Jesus and Mo resort to one of the lowest forms of argument: the “witness by example” … […]

JayBee, that’s as funny as the cartoon.

Jabee I’m having the same, conversations on youtube, and they always end with scaremongering of fire and damnation.
they can’t handle the arguments, this girl told me that Muhammed sleeping with a 9 year old was ok,
quote from, yasmine040
“he didnt rape her he was married a LAWFUL ISLAMIC marriage”
I mean, come on.

Unfortunately they don’t see how ridiculous their “Sharia” is… Their sense of logic is ASSASSINATED since their early childhood years.

I like the tap handle… Is it symbolic of Mo or Jesus (I can never re-member… mine was burned in the hospital incinerator).

Jason, check this out:
Matthew 10:34-36 (King James Version)
34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
