    The latter are a living testimony to the falseness of evolution as it applies to them, but keep on banging, I say!

    It’s a bit rich Mo telling Jesus he shouldn’t flounce. At least if his followers understand him properly, Mo must be a considerable flouncer himself! No images, no naming teddy bears after him, no disrespect, no insults, no this, no that – one flounce after another.

    Well maybe that’s what he meant – you shouldn’t flounce because that’s my schtick.

    It isn’t just religion. I’ve seen people threatened with violence over politics, sports and the equivalent of a “yo mama” joke. I guess the guy REALLY loved his mama. Perhaps I would get MY way more often if I acted like a big baby.

    Another brilliant comic that made me laugh and reflect. Wish I could buy the author a round.

    If only these people could get it through their heads that they are entitled to their own beliefs, but not their own facts.

    Curious how these two seem to get along despite some substantial differences in ‘their beliefs’.

    I bookmarked your site the first time I visted and have enjoyed it ever since. A small nit to pick: Evolution is not something to “believe” or to “believe in” as though it were a matter of faith. Rather it is to be accepted on the strength of evidence. [/nitpick].

    just a word to the nitpicker, the biblethumpers say they don’t “believe” in evoloution because it conflicts with genesis… if your entire religion is based on faith in something involving only stories and parabels without fact, what makes you think actual facts would dissuade them?

    It’s like trying to talk a 3 year old out of believing in the tooth fairy. “if mommy says she’s real and i still get a quarter for my tooth, then she’s gotta be real” becomes “If the church says genesis is real and the bible agrees, then it’s gotta be real”

    Religion is the refuge of thousands of years of 3 year olds who never grew up.

    Nothing. As long as it wasn’t in total disrespect. If you can put the American flag on the shorts of the ass of a 300 pound woman, you can call a teddy bear jesus.

    Science is our most reliable view of reality, Todd. There are mountains and mountains of evidence in favor of evolution. Evolution is no more “dogma” than the Theory of Gravity.

    It would actually be more accurate to say that science is the way we distinguish thing which are actually true from things we would like to be true. People naturally see patterns in random information, so it’s important to filter out the observer effect.
