  1. Intelligent Designer says:

Love it! Especially the double meaning in the last sentence.

  2. Tom S. Fox says:

Don’t worry β€” we know that the barmaid is talking when the speech bubbles (or speech squares) point downwards!

  3. Brilliant again. You sure are good at nailing jello to the wall.

  4. I imagine Mo to be saying it like this in the third panel : http://croak.eu/sUoRHu πŸ˜€

  5. Jay says:

I know sooooo many people who think and “debate” like that… True as hell πŸ™‚

  6. Pleased says:

    Brilliant, as always.

  7. Jerry w says:

Many people might say “I’ll believe it when I see it”, but with Jesus and Mo
it’s a little different, and they express it as: “I’ll see it when I believe it”.
Happy whatever equinox it is, more or less……

  8. percyF says:

    … solstice …

  9. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ wery wery soon it is Christmas here in norway, so i wish all people here a merry christmas. Merry christmas to you also author πŸ™‚

  10. Nassar Ben Houdja says:

    The truth, an inconvienent invention
But marketable by those suffering from anal retention
Like green suckers sold to sheep
    To buy them they leap
There’s one born every minute, I’ll mention.

  11. HOSANNAS ABJURED says:

    THE BARMAID’S LAMENT

The difference between you and me,
Mo and Jesus, is quite plain to see:
    You admit that you’re beat
    By endless defeat
To one who strives to agree

  12. mano says:

I’m not even sure if the likes of Jesus and Mo mean the same thing by the word ‘truth’ as the likes of Barmaid.

  13. Dalai Llama says:

It saddens me to bring news of the recent death of Christopher Hitchens. Whatever you think of his political affiliations, when it came to taking a stance against religious idiocy, the man was an inspiration.

A quote from Hitchens himself: β€œThe only position that leaves me with no cognitive dissonance is atheism. It is not a creed. Death is certain, replacing both the siren-song of Paradise and the dread of Hell. Life on this earth, with all its mystery and beauty and pain, is then to be lived far more intensely: we stumble and get up, we are sad, confident, insecure, feel loneliness and joy and love. There is nothing more; but I want nothing more.”

    He will be missed.

  14. Acolyte of Sagan says:

Just been reading Hitch’s obits over on RD.net. Our side has lost a giant, but rest assured he’s left us fully armed.
God should thank his lucky stars that he’s non-existant, otherwise he’s be getting Hitch-slapped in person right about now.
Farewell Hitch, you will be missed but I for one thank you and will focus on what you gave us, rather than what you had left to do.

  15. omsacras says:

Took me a while, but I’ve read all the comics since the beggining. Hilarious stuff!

  16. Author says:

    @omsacras That’s quite a feat. Thanks!

  17. HaggisForBrains says:

So long, and thanks for all the Hitchslaps.

  18. FreeFox says:

Shouldn’t Jesus and Mo be partying instead of wearing black? (Seriously, though, if there is to be any black in memory of Mr. Hitchens it should only be the lable of the Johnny Walker ue to toast him and all contrarians.) T_T / ^_^

  19. Author says:

@FreeFox – They do what I tell them to do, and wear what I tell them to wear, whether they like it or not.

  20. JohnnieCanuck says:

    Hmm. Yet another cosmic tyrant.

At least you have a good sense of humour. That’s something to be grateful for in a cosmic tyrant. That guy from the Abrahamic religions really is a twisted sort when it comes to humour.

  21. Christopher Hitchens is dead. Now it’s up to us. Yikes. That’s a hard act to follow for sure.

  22. Acolyte of Sagan says:

@DH, I’m hoping that one of The Hitch’s kids can follow in his footsteps. I’m already looking forward to seeing the headline…….”THE HITCH IS BACK”!
Now that’s a resurrection the faith-heads won’t be too keen on.

  23. HOSANNAS ABJURED says:

    Just registered hitchisrisen.com. Any offers?

  24. HOSANNAS ABJURED says:

Did you hear about the memorial service – it went off without a hitch

  25. Acolyte of Sagan says:

Just seen the 1st Hitch joke.
It’s been confirmed that Hitch underwent a deathbed confession. He called for a Catholic priest and converted him to atheism.

  26. Acolyte of Sagan says:

Being the dick I am, I got the 1st line wrong (curse you, morphine, ye can tek ma pain but ye canna tek ma brain!). It should of course read “….deathbed conversion”.

  27. HaggisForBrains says:

    @ HA & A of S – lovely!

  28. Jerry w says:

From my inner dyslexic, “May his soul have mercy on god”. Of course this could be difficult, since as far as I can tell neither one of them actually exists.

  29. carolita says:

Women. You can’t beat them. πŸ˜‰

  30. carolita says:

(Actually, that was a sexist remark, but I was just saying it ironically, Author. You know that, right? That’s a famous awful quote. I should’ve put the quote marks on!)
