Exactly. The only reason that the mass of Christians in today’s world is less terrifying than the mass of Muslims is that Christians are better at ignoring the worst parts of their holy books. In fact, they even have a whole second book for the sole purpose of mitigating the shitty things that their “unchanging god” did in the first book
The rest they can pick and choose from and translate poorly to make say whatever their agenda of the day is.

Funny. Getting rid of my patently absurd beliefs made me feel a lot better too.
I should tell you about them sometime. Angels and gold plates! Hoo boy. What a bunch of kidders.

I feel short changed, somehow.
Learning that Catholics have so many extra things to feel good about getting rid of means I kind of missed out. Fervent Anglicans just don’t really compare in the patently absurd department.
Sure they’ve got the basic sky faerie and 3=1=3 stuff, but “Is that all there is?”
