Is there a theophobia?
I’ve been reading claims that young people are turning to religion these days. Particularly young men. That’s going to grease the skids for a slide into fascism. While the church leaders may protest, the believers go for Trump, AfD, etc. Beating on Islam won’t save us.
Theophobia.. yes…. and apparently there is clinical help for it. I leave you all to search out your own preferred treatments…
Yes, just stay away from Israeli politics with this!
I should have looked it up first. Usage varies, but generally it’s when you have a particular dread of crosses etc. Like a vampire. Not about people who have a strong suspicion that
… [excuse me] that religions are up to no good.
Classically described Vampires don’t exist, but irrational fear of x,y,z is real. For every phobia we have the opposite…the love of whatever x,y or z is…until recently utd had a goalkeeper who was frightened of crosses…
I am intolerant of any antj-science faith position a person may contend…The “my-truth” culture of the younger generations is a right pain in the arse, just ask my mate who teaches Math at college who has to mark ludicrous my-truth incorrect answers to any particular maths questions…
As a sometimes-STEM-instructor, I’m curious whether these were serious attempts to answer the questions, or (as I suspect) whiney diversions to cover up ignorance and apathy.
The modern trend to try and make the hatd sciences as subjective as the aerie-faerie nonsense in theology, history and English literatire. This comes from ignorance of Heisenbergs uncertainty principle and Relativity amongst others …Nothing is more pointless than study of Theology….like I said Deckchair shifters on the deck of the Titanic…
And forgive the typo’s, my finger is too big for my phones keyboard…🤣
Brilliant cartoon, Author. , , ,
More controversy concerning Pakistani men sex grooming gang operating in Glasgow…Police trying to cover it all up…and probably the tip of the iceberg…
So you’ve noticed a pattern.
Every time you share your totally rational, dispassionate, reasonable concerns about women’s sports, the person to whom you’re talking calls you transphobic.
You’ve thought about what the common thread could be, and you think you’ve found the answer.
They’re all scared to argue with you.
Certainly that could be the answer. Everyone could be wrong in the same way.
But you must admit that’s not the only possible explanation.
Scared to argue, but not scared to call you transphobic? What’s the feared outcome?
I will say that I wonder about people who get cranked up about these concerns about women’s sports. Naturally, I suppose, as I’m not generally very interested in women’s sports, but women’s volleyball has an appealing combination of power and grace, and I’d watch a game if it were going on. There’s a trans controversy there, San Jose State has a player who is believed to be trans. Maybe I should write my congressman.
I won’t, though, because as entertaining as women’s volleyball might be, it isn’t for me to say who should play and what it should be about. They can decide. The general public can watch the games or not watch. The loudest “concerns” among the general public are from people who weren’t going to watch anyway, am I right? I wonder about those people.
Clearly, the modern woke thinking, that if you declare you are a woman, then your chromasomes miraculously change from XY to XX is complete bollocks. I once played in a works mans team against a good standard womens team who had the current Englands goalkeeper in net. I scored five goals from corners with my head because my only real footballing talent was attacking the ball and heading it….Trans men have a HUGE physical advantage in most cases. Thats why they can’t be allowed to compete against REAL wimmin…
“Clearly, the modern woke thinking, that if you declare you are a woman, then your chromasomes miraculously change from XY to XX is complete bollocks.”
Yes. That would be why no one thinks that.
Nobody believes that a declaration can change anyone’s chromosomes; what the woke have convinced themselves of is that sex has nothing to do with chromosomes, that it’s all matter of how you identify inside. So if someone who appears to be a man says he identifies as a woman, then he is a woman, and in fact has always been a woman, because whatever you identify as, that’s what you are.
(Unless of course you are a white person who identifies as black. God no, you can’t do that! What’s wrong with you…!!!!!)
James Hutchings….Millions of people genuinely believe that the wine of the Eucharist turns into christs haemoglobin after the mumbo jumbo is spoken over it so I reckon my statement IS believed by a suprising number of stupid people….
Tis the very nature of faith…
And JB if your assertion that declaration of X means you are X then if you must assert that any of X’s attributes must necessarily also be alligned?
I am a teapot and it’s obvious what I consider to be my spout…
