TEH PROPH3T WILL NOT BE PWND!

Beautiful work on this one, Author.

  4. grouchy-one says:

    Waaahahahahahaha
This has to be my favourite!!

  5. wright says:

Oh, that’s too precious. That wordless pause works SO well!

You can see the little cogs going round in their heads, realizing that their best course would be to keep quiet. But then the need to proselytize FORCES them to make asses of themselves…

    Comedy. Gold.

  6. AJ Milne says:

Thank you. That very nearly made me pee myself.

  7. Matt Oxley says:

Glad you are back Author, keep em coming.

  8. JohnnieCanuck says:

What else can one do but mock a supposedly omnipotent, omniscient god that is so ineffectual as to constantly depend on its followers to provide its only defence?

  9. Godless not gormless says:

Brilliant! One of the better strips I’ve seen here!

    @wright

    Spot on! Couldn’t agree more.

  10. Mr Gronk says:

    Top work, Author

Julie Burchill (30% religious nincompoop, 70% clever but flawed human) once said that the phrase “god is not mocked” is meant to be said with a smiling shrug, rather than as a belligerent threat. To her thinking, the Great Unknowable is by definition unmockable, and really doesn’t give a toss what you think anyway. While still just silly theological fluff, this sort of outlook would make for a more mellow world. Obviously many of her fellow believers would rather get indignant on their god’s behalf, much more fun I guess.

  11. Tony says:

But then Ms Burchill continues by getting indignant on her god’s behalf. And that’s a bigger fail than marrying Tony Parsons.

  12. simon says:

So Author finally (!) reveals his true colours. Luckily they are my colours too.

Tony: She could have married Nicholas Parsons and where would we be then?

    Never ever bloody thing ever!

  13. John Moore says:

Or maybe Alan Parsons which might have changed some of his lyrics…

  14. AJ Milne says:

‘…which might have changed some of his lyrics…’

    Don’t laugh at meeeee… /
It doth piss me off… /
I am the maker of rules /
    Believed in by fooooools…. /
    Hey, don’t turn me [blip]…

  15. John Moore says:

I can create you blind…I am thee eye in thee sky

  16. It is, of course, perfectly possible to make fun of Trappist monks.

    TRiG.

  17. JimS says:

Why has XKCD been dropped from the links? Does it get too many votes? Russel’s Teapot hasn’t been updated in months.

  18. Bob McArthur says:

Love it. Part of what makes your comics so great is that you usually make a valid logical point. Thank you for all the smiles you have brought me.

  19. His Royal Oddness says:

Author’s back in full force! Guess the break helped. This has to be one of your funniest in a long time. The silent third panel killed me!

  20. Bodach says:

Wright @ 5: exactly! Must_Not_Speak___ Arghh! God will not be mocked! Hee hee!

  21. Mateo-Argentino says:

They just don’t get it: If they shut up, the don’t have to look stupid when someone says “hey, but what about all this facts that say that you are wrong?”…AND, they save US the time we use to pretend we respect their point of view…

  22. fontor says:

I think when there’s a wordless third panel, you need to use the ‘blink’ gif. Even though it hasn’t been used for a few months now, I still wait for a few seconds, just to see if Mo will do it.

  23. The barmaid is a New Atheist?! I’m shocked! Shocked!

  24. fenchurch says:

@Ophelia– take careful note that Barmaid did not here define herself as new atheist– it was a label externally implied.

Most of such labels defining Atheists are generously donated /conferred upon by us others, such as: sinner, Darwinist, science-lover, god-hater, liar, hypocrite, Satanist, future Muslim (I’m not making this shit up), fool, hellbound, not-a-citizen, immoral, babby [sic] eater, nihilist, closeted Christian, ignorant, apostate, etc.

But, some of the epithets we are happy to reclaim, like infidel, heathen, and godless 🙂 I can’t wait for the day that theists bemoan the “loss” of the word “infidel” to the English language.

  25. Acolyte of Sagan says:

So how long will it take until us gobby atheists are no longer ‘new’?

  26. Acolyte of Sagan says:

And just as I’m getting over ‘new’ atheism, along comes ‘atheism+’. Can’t a chap or chapess just not believe in gods anymore?
