    Some things are indeed obvious.

  2. E.A. Blair says:

All religions are equal but some religions are more equal than others.

  3. M27Holts says:

Perhaps the Orange whopper was correct when he said Europe was a little bit broke? We allow religious lunacy to proliferate far too easily in blighty these days…It will all end very nastily indeed if devisive lunacy is allowed to defend itself with de-facto blasphemy laws….

  4. Donn Cave says:

Someone was telling me this afternoon that, here in Portugal, instructors etc. will make fun of you when you make a mistake – not mean, but just making fun. Very different from back home. Because back home, frankly, too often we really are mean, and “just making fun” is a lie.

These religion discrimination rules are inevitable, when a liberal western society is trying to deal with racism that can be proxied with religion. When there are propagandists push youtube videos etc. about the horrors of middle eastern / north African cultures, that are overrunning fair Europe, and it’s hard to even nail down exactly what the racial quotient is there but Islam is a convenient ID.

And honestly at a casual glance I don’t see anything here that really prevents us from pointing out what a poisonous religion Islam is. It was a definition, not a law, and the definition seems reasonably careful to leave you room to say what you want about the religion.

    those de-facto blasphemy laws
are the effect following the cause
    for when you are blasphemous
    unless it’s unanimous
    it requires an arbitration clause

Here in Blighty we are to have teachers trained to identify Mysogyny? I would prefer for teachers to engage with children and point out that violence against anybody regardless of sex, age , race, hair colour , body shape yadda yadda yadda. It will be interesting how they reconcile modern anti mysogyny zeitgeist with holy books full of mysogynistic nonsense?

  7. Mockingbird says:

Over the Xmas 2025 period please try and keep in mind that the persons who scribbled all the holy texts would regard the modern electric kettle as a miracle.

  8. M27Holts says:

Electric Kettle? Primitive I have a hot tap, it is the 21st century now…🤣

  9. Postdoggerel says:

Well, here it is, Xmas eve, and I have in mind the Tucker Telephone, which would have been considered miraculous by the Inquisition. It was banned in the USA in the sixties, but yet another Tucker was to become a scourge on our country, even to this day.
