Jesus and Mo In this strip remind me of the evangelical Christians in the USA, who are part of the MAGA CULT OF DONALD TRUMP. Being a long time escapee from Evangelical fundamentalist Christianity with family members still Self jailed in that prison and members of this MAGA cult, I fully understand where Jesus and MO are coming from here.
Welcome back, Author. I thought you might be ill – or dead, god forbid! I’m sure you deserved a short break for xmas and New Year! I’ve only just returned from a New Year break myself, so belated Guid New Year wishes to you, and all other readers, commentators, supporters, objectors, sceptics, and destroyers of spelling and punctuation. I’d like to buy drinks all round, but, sadly, the old Cock & Bull is only a virtual pub. But Happy New Year to any teetotallers in our midst!.
My comment was aimed at the Trump supporters…Good Hogmany? SOG. I am on dry January after a particularly boozy solstice…(I get the sex in before starting on the strong dark ale with whisky chasers…)
Ah, too subtle for me then. Think I have already ascertained that a lot of Americans are uneducated spunk-wombles…perhaps thats what threw me…twas stating the bleedin obvious…
Most of the English names are from Norse gods: Tuesday: Tiw (God of War) Wednesday: Woden (God of death and the underworld) Thursday: Thor (God of Thunder and weather, with a massive hammer) Friday: Freya (Goddess of Love). The French names match with the corresponding Roman Gods Lundi (Moon) Mardi (Mars, God of War) Mecredi (Mercury, God of the Underworld) Jeudi (Jove aa Jupiter, God of Thunder) Venderdi (Venus, Goddess of love).
Jesus & Mo (the characters) are absurd, blinkered, and oddly very sweet. J&M (the cartoon) is brilliant: sharp, delicious, irresistible. Salman Rushdie
Jesus and Mo cartoons are wonderfully funny and true. Richard Dawkins
Jesus and Mo make the world a better place, bless their little hearts. Ophelia Benson
In a world defined by outrage and offence and liberal spinelessness, Jesus and Mo is a treasure, whose value we should never fail to recognize. Read them. Laugh. And think. Kenan Malik
The brilliant, celebrated, freaking hilarious atheist comic strip ... Greta Christina
...rays of sanity in a befuddled world. Keri Hulme
The liveliest depictions of Muhammad currently available... Malise Ruthven
J & Mo is the funniest and most consistently thought-provoking cartoon strip on the Net. In a saner world, it would run in a major newspaper. Nelson Jones, Heresy Corner
Consistently amusing, frequently thought-provoking and often heart-warming. New Humanist
Jesus & Mo is one of the most wonderful things on the internet.. JT Eberhard
Wittily captures much of the absurdity of religious apologetics. Mano Singham
I love jesusandmo.net cartoons - witty and sharp! Katha Pollitt
Often hilarious, frequently wry, these cartoons do what all the best cartoons do: they tell the truth through humour. Terry Sanderson, NSS President
...a wonderfully acid British cartoonist... Nick Cohen
I love the scrappy mockery of Jesus and Mo. Freedom of speech
includes the freedom to mock any person, any thing, any activity, and
any belief -- and J&M stands up for this unflinchingly Richard Stallman
...empowering, important and deeply progressive, not to mention hilarious... Council of Ex-Muslims
On Top Form for the New Year J&M

Happy New Year!
Thanks for another year of giggles @Author – here’s to many more.
This year I resolved to break all of my New Year’s resolutions. I broke it as much as I did not.
Are most septics as thick as pigshit? Or is that just a media misrepresentation?

BTW, I particularly like this week’s strip!

This is off topic, but I thought the Cock & Bull crowd might enjoy the cartoon at https://www.gocomics.com/barneyandclyde/2024/01/07
I thought that Saturday was named after the Roman God, Saturn?
M27Holts: I think that’s the point of the joke!
