    awesome!

I was watching Farfour, Palestine’s version of Mickey Mouse, and apparently he teaches kids to annihilate Jews.

    It’s on youtube.

  2. click on the name to see the video. I find it incredibly ridiculous and scary at the same time

  3. Alex says:

This is a great comic strip. I’m so glad the holy days are over.

    Cheers!

  4. Bodach says:

Moses has the conch shell; it’s his turn to speak. Mmm: pork and shellfish on the same day.

  5. Maggs says:

    Oy vey!

(I can say that, I have ancestresses names Bathsheba and Zipporah)

When is Jesus going to remember he’s Jewish, it was only his followers who turned out not to be?

  6. John The Geologist says:

I wonder what moslems (or jews for that matter) think when they eat a hamburger. Do they call them hamburgers ?

(I know it comes from the town Hamburg and they do not actually contain ham or piggy bits – but do the pig denialists ?)

Are there MacDildos fattening up the moslem world ?

  7. grouchy-one says:

    Porco Dio!

  8. Abc says:

Umm.. most muslims and jews dont speak english. But if youre interested..
    http://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/???????
    http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/???????

Can’t see the words but the links seem to work..

  9. Colonel Leisure says:

Porco cane! (For all the Italian readers :oP)

  10. Stonyground says:

I wonder if the author thought of this independently or took his inspiration from the real life Isreali health minister who actually said that ‘swine flu’ was offensive and could they call it Mexican Flu instead. there is a picture of the guy on the freethinker website and I always have to ask myself if I am prejudiced in some way because it seems that stupid religious people always actually look stupid to me. How can that be? you can’t really judge someone’s intelligence from their face.

  11. Don says:

There’s a link to the story just under the cartoon.

  12. Stephen Turner says:

This deputy health minister (Yakov Litzman) of Israel might actually get brownie points for taking Muslims’ feelings into account.
Someone at B&W suggested naming a disease after him as a tribute.
Surely the following train of thought will be found somewhere:
    1) My deity doesn’t allow me to eat pig
    2) The new flu appears to have come from pigs
    3) Therefore I am right to follow what my “holy” book says, and it is infallible

  13. JMo says:

How about “piggy back”, “piggy bank”, “porkers”, “pigs”, “Bay of Pigs”, “pig skin”, could think of many more!!!!!!

  14. [...] The great online comic Jesus & Mo: [...]

  15. JohnnieCanuck says:

Presumably what has his tassels twisted is the fact that the viruses now in Jewish and Islamic bodies are the descendants of (parts of) ones that were once inside pigs. Renaming the virus will not change this fact.

Perhaps if it were explained to him that the reason the virus can move between host species is the similarities of human and swine cells and immune systems, he would feel better. No?

Okay then, maybe if we explain that the reason this is so, is that swine and humans share a common ancestor, his many times great-grandparent. That is, every swine on the earth is his cousin. Still not enough?

How about if we call it Animal Cousin flu, instead? That way we don’t stigmatise an actual nationality with the label.

  16. John The Geologist says:

Abc – I accept that most moslems do not speak English (I lived in Saudi Arabia for two years and have a rough idea that most of them spoke Arabic).

I would however argue that the majority of Jewish people in the world do actually speak English or at least that English is the principal language of Jews globally. The number of Jews who speak Hebrew is probably less than the number who speak Spanish.

There definitely are McDildos in Israel:

    http://www.telaviv4fun.com/fastfood.html.

And there are definitely McDildos in Saudi:

    http://www.mcdonaldsarabia.com/english/ksa/index.asp

(They just call them beefburgers, which is fine I guess. In fact some of their stuff looks extremely tasty).

JMo – I resisted the temptation to do all the porcine related words I could dream up but I fear you are leading me down the path of temptation (must be strong, must be strong).

I phoned up NHS Direct this morning to ask about swine flu and all I got was crackling on the line.

  17. MyCatIsGod says:

    Beware the Aporkalypse!

No Mac-Ds in Yemen – the only one they had was in Sana’a, and it kept getting burned down. There’s a Pizza Hut there now, which seems to be more acceptable to the fundamentalists.

  18. andrea says:

I wonder if the fact that the flu virus has clearly evolved from the pig flu – therefore proving evolution – is worse for the Moslem and Jewish anti-porcinists than the fact that the disease which once roamed around the piggy bloodstream is now headed their way ready to dirty them up and send them to Hell?

  19. jerry w says:

Stonyground says “seems that stupid religious people always actually look stupid to me. How can that be? you can’t really judge someone’s intelligence from their face.”

Many people here in the U.S. and around the world may have reason to disagree with you:

    http://archive.dailypicture.net/stupid_is_as_stupid_does__president_gw_bush_quotes_from_the_first_term.htm

  20. Doctorb says:

Ah, but there are also non-stupid reasons not to call it swine flu:

The World Health Organization announced Thursday it will would stop using the term “swine flu” to avoid confusion over the danger posed by pigs. The policy shift came a day after Egypt began slaughtering thousands of pigs in a misguided effort to prevent swine flu.

  21. ChesterTheBear says:

Actually, Israel is one of the world’s biggest producers of pig skin products… shoes, handbags, wallets… and Jews don’t find swine offensive at all, it’s just that we don’t eat it (or aren’t supposed to, anyway).

So perhaps Litzman has a finely tuned sense of humour.

  22. Lance says:

    Steven Turner:
“1) My deity doesn’t allow me to eat pig
    2) The new flu appears to have come from pigs
    3) Therefore I am right to follow what my “holy” book says, and it is infallible”

    You are a prophet, sir:
    (from freethinker.co.uk:)
..up stepped imam Amadia Rachid, based in the Italian city of Salerno, who claimed this week that the swine flu virus affirms Islam’s teachings. Said Algerian-born Rachid:

We believe that what is happening shows the truth of our faith. Even Muslims who live in Italy are talking about swine flu at the moment … many believe the disease confirmed the teaching of the Koran

    He added:

The Islamic faith doesn’t explain exactly why pigs should be considered unclean animals. But it’s clear that, for most theologians, it is precisely to avoid the spread of disease that Islamic tradition tends to keep men away from pigs.

  23. John The Geologist says:

The Egyptians are only slaughtering pigs because they are raised by the small percentage of the population which is christian.

The exact percentage is a state secret !

  24. Adrian says:

WHO’s daily updates on “Influenza Type A (H1N1)”, the flu formerly known as Swine Flu, consistently report that “the situation continues to evolve”.

How long until this also gets changed?

  25. juj says:

    how lond until it spread

  26. Gyb says:

Well, pig is overproduced anyway…Give me more Tuna! :D

Oh that’s the news about the (most likely) Non-muslim Egyptian Pig breeder defended his livestock…Didn’t the officials are acting over the top at it? I felt horrible seeing the slaughtering…
