This article in the New York Review of Books blog (which features our boys at the end) inspired me to resurrect this old plum. Sorry to those of you who have seen it before.

    hahahaha

  2. Darwin says:

Happy to see this one again. It’s a classic now.

  3. Killian says:

Cheers me up no end, satire in a world gone mad. Love it ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Robert says:

It’s one of the all-time best in the series, and the one that originally interested me in the strip. I think I found it on Andrew Sullivan’s blog, back in the day.

  5. jean-franรงois gauthier says:

nice speedo, mo. ready to hit venice beach in those roller skates. the teeny-weeny fish on jesusโ€™ attire is a nice touch too.

  6. Andrew Hall says:

Great, now I’m going to have that image burned in my mind for the entire day.

  7. kiyaroru says:

    You did cranial transplants?

  8. Nassar Ben Houdja says:

    What an uninteresting spectacle
    Of a profitable testicle
    This affront to the sage
    Provokes much outrage
Next show the plug and receptacle.

  9. Mordecai the Foul says:

    Dear Sir,
I wish to complain in the strongest possible terms. We all know that Mo “dresses to the left”. To show him in the way you have done, is a zzzzzzzzzzz……..

  10. Prior Aelred says:

    “plumb”?
(BTW, I’ve seen this before — when the next book coming out?)
    ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Author says:

@Prior Aelred – Plum – it’s a British joke; “plums” as in “Ow, me plums!”

The last two books had 140 strips in them. There have only been 80 since “Born Again” came out, so it’ll be about 6 months before there are enough for another volume. I’d like to do a “Best of” collection for the Kindle, but I’ve got a mountain of real work to do this year, and I don’t think I’ll have the time.

  12. HaggisForBrainsDS7 says:

    @NBH “Of a profitable testicle”

    Surely “prophetable”

  13. archbish says:

@author – real work? You mean this isn’t it? ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. I never really noticed before how much Jesus reminds me of the Shaggy character from Scooby Doo

  15. kikainonakanoyuurei says:

@author ~ Was funny then ~ still funny now ~ thanks again for the morning laugh ^^! (my fave of those danish ones is still Mo standing on the cloud saying to all the suicide bombers ~ “STOP STOP! We have run out of virgins!”)
@NBH ~ seems you are looking for a little “brokeback mountian” action ~ deshou?

  16. Sosusk says:

your comics are humanizing Mo, but even with accidents like the trunk detail he is not denigrated…
i would like to know Jesus and Mo in real life, and I’d love a chat with Moses..
    greeting to the artist

  17. JohnnieCanuck says:

    Sosusk
I’ll grant you that Mo’ probably did exist. Jesus and Moses, very likely not; though their legends may have been built up on top of one or more living people.

I don’t think you’d have found it a pleasant experience to visit an illiterate caravan raider who was regularly afflicted with hallucinations. Even if this fantasy trip through time included being able to speak his language, he likely would have concluded you were a demon or a spy or something, with little exchange of philosophical dialogue before putting an end to it.

  18. Ketil W.Grevstad says:

i have read this before, but i think its funny every time i read it.
I’m big fan of jesus and mo, i read the cartoon almost everyday ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Hans says:

    @JohnnieCanuck
I don’t see why there couldn’t have been a dude called jesus who claimed to know gods will and pissed off the romans.

  20. Irving says:

    @Hans
I don’t see why ther couldn’t be a teapot suspended between the orbits of Earth and Mars, but that doesn’t make it real.

  21. Limulus says:

    Mo is a trendsetter:

(please note the “NSFW” in the URL)

  22. moammar says:

great stuff- have you gotten any death threats for this one yet?

  23. fenchurch says:

Looks like Mo’s plum smugglers are borked. ๐Ÿ˜
And he doesn’t shave ’em. That’ll cost him pleasure points.
