    Jesus said “batshit”!!!!!

  2. […] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Jason Spratt and Fernando Frias, author. author said: New comic: admit http://www.jesusandmo.net/2010/08/10/admit/ […]

  3. jean-françois gauthier says:

reformation or no, i have to say that as implausible tenets go, the whole trinity thing takes the thorny crown.

  4. Poor Richard says:

When there is nothing there, you need a tenet to fill the void. I really love Mo’s grumble cloud; I have one just like it.

  5. Chris says:

Heh… Nice strip but…is it just me or do people miss the old Mo with his properly mental stare?

I mean imagine sth like this one – http://www.jesusandmo.net/2009/07/14/rife/

    – with the new Mo in the last frame. Just wouldn’t be the same.

    Cheers y’all.

  6. Bodach says:

The whole monotheism thing wouldn’t be missed, either.

  7. Gk4c4 says:

Ha Ha Ha .. the last part got me by surprise, the shahadat! I was wondering whether the author will state FGM or even porkian-essence thingy .. but the shahadat! That black cloud above Moe might be a Paki-nukli! Ha ha ha ..

  8. S says:

    Great strip!

  9. nina says:

I think you’re right Chris, Mo does look more unbalanced with the old beard.
    ____

and, if only the various religions would jettison the implausible and unreasonable – what a wonderful world this would be

  10. kiyaroru says:

    @Chris
Yeah, there’s something a little Winston Smith about altering the old art-work.

  11. TonyJazz says:

My suggestion is to show the beers partially drunk… The glasses are too full, as if they don’t indulge (or their mystical powers always refill their mugs?)…

  12. Valis says:

“if only the various religions would jettison the implausible and unreasonable”

That would be religion itself! Not going to happen unfortunately…

  13. Stephen Turner says:

Hee hee, and welcome back author! Be careful not to say the Sacred Tenet out loud twice cos doing so makes you a Muzzie if I understand things right. And presumably you aren’t one….

I just noticed that it doesn’t actually assert the existence of Allah, it only asserts that other possible gods are non-existent. (Rather as if, instead of asserting 2+2=4, it asserted that 2+2 is not equal to anything different from 4).

By this argument, one could simultaneously be a Muslim and not believe in Allah. Isn’t theology fun?

  14. As always, great strip. Great comments from your readers.

  15. Kristian says:

The Christian reformation was in fact a fundamentalist movement. A return to the written word. Look at the Calvinists or the Dutch reformed church: they’re no fun! Lutheranism has (probably because of a larger following?) had to turn more and more secular & watered down, probably because once a large number of educated folks take a good look at nonsense like religion, they realise it is just… batshit.

  16. Didac says:

Well, if you need some information about Christianity you can read http://www.answering-christianity.com/ac.htm and if you need information about Islam you can read http://www.answering-islam.org/. As for reformation, as Kristian has put it reformation is a fundamentalist movement. It was the case of Luther and Calvin, but also of Catholic (Counter)-Reformation in Trento. It was the case of Safavid Iran, and it was the case of Wahabbi Arabia.

  17. Rafael says:

    Genius!!!

  18. tone-toni says:

@ nina: Valis is right – “if only the various religions would jettison the implausible and unreasonable” – do that, and there would be nothing left to call “religion”. As for the trinity thing, I’ve always thought that was utter, well, “batshit”. Anybody here ever read that bastion of trinitarian logic, the Athanasian Creed?

  19. Graham Price says:

Is it my imagination or is Andy Hamilton looking more like Mo these days – I think we should be told.

  20. nina says:

    @tone-toni

yes, that is the desired result to rid ourselves of the implausible and unreasonable – especially when it’s used to justify so much evil

  21. Nassar Ben Houdja says:

Nothing like a beer and bacon burger while discussing the finer points of halal or kosher.
